Today was the day we were suppose to be in St. Thomas, but we found out last night that a crew member was reported missing and possibly went over board, so we had to retrace our course back to when he was first reported missing which would have been after we left Nassau. Needless to say it took a full day so St. Thomas was not going to happen. The crew and employees had their hands full with all guest on board another day and the new Cruise Compass was then passed out for more activities on board. I was ok with staying on the boat since the destinations were not my primary reason for taking the cruise, plus I have been to St. Thomas before, but my husband was looking forward to going to the port, maybe next time....
Another late start since we were to be at sea, so we went to breakfast in the main dining room, then after breakfast I decided to check out Vitality Spa. They were running a special "Ladys' Night" with a neck and back message, facial, head and foot message with a glass of champagne for $99.00. I arrive 10 mins before my scheduled time was escorted to the waiting area where I was given a locker ,robe and slipper. I slipped into those and relaxed in the serene waiting area with a cold glass of lemon water. After about 15 mins, I was taken for my message. It was great, especially the foot message. The Masseuse was very nice and did a wonderful job. Very relaxing and surprisingly I enjoyed the facial, not sure if I would have like it. The whole experience was relaxing and calming. The total time was 1 hour so I felt it was a good price for the service.
I then met my husband at the Royal Promenade for our cupcake decorating class. Let me tell you, this was great fun! I really enjoyed it. We were a group of 9 adults plus the Pastry instructor and we had to decorate and create the cupcake to look like a dog. (See photos on this site). The instructor did a great job and gave us step by step hands on instructions. And the finish products came out great-and tasted even better! I have experience with cake and cupcake decorating, but my husband has not and he did a fantastic job, his dog was perfect! I was very impressed.... And the best part is I got to eat both of them. The Cupcake Cupboard had all sorts of delicious flavors of gourmet cupcakes and it was hard to chose a favorite. My favorite is always the vanilla and vanilla icing but the red velvet with cream cheese frosting was very good too. There is a $2.50 charge for the cupcakes, but they are huge and they had some unusual flavors like banana, pineapple and chocolate turtles... The following day there was a class for just children and they did monkey's made with banana cupcakes, very cute -see photo on blog.
There was lots of activities to enjoy on board today, like a Calypso Music Street Party in the Promenade, The Adult Quest Game Show, which was sort of like a scavenger hunt, Trivia games, Salsa Classes in Boleros, Wine tasting at Vintages and much much more.
After dinner we had reservations for the Headliner show starring a singer named Kenny James. We were looking forward to the show since all the entertainment so far has been exceptional, however, this one was very disappointing. We stayed for about 20 mins and then left. I suppose it was ok, but after seeing the other shows this one just did not compare and we found ourselves bored. Oh well, they couldn't get all the shows perfect! So off to the casino to lose more money! :)
