Day 2- May 23, 2010- Arrive in Nassau, the Bahamas

We arrived in the Bahamas around 7:00 AM and met our guide who would escort us to Atlantis. We chose the Atlantis Beach day tour which was suppose to allow you 5 hours at Atlantis. Although technically it was 5 hours, they included travel time back and forth, which I felt was kind of a rip off. The actual amount of time we were at Atlantis was barely 3 hours. Once our group got together, we hopped on the ferry to Atlantis, then we walked escorted 10 mins to the resort. The guide pointed out a few areas to visit as we headed for the beach. It was a nice beach where the resort supplied towels and covered lounge chairs. Since we wanted to see the rest of Atlantis we only had 1 hour to sun and swim, so it felt kind of rushed. Next headed toward the Lagoon, which was amazing, really enjoyed the underwater tunnel and the huge fish and the many colorful fish as well. We then headed on a self guided tour of "The Dig", we had to go through the lobby and the casino which were very grand. It is a large resort and glad that we got to experience it on this cruise, because the exorbitant fees they charge to stay here are insane. It was really nice, but not worth $400.00 and up a night! The Dig was also great, it is suppose to be like the lost city of Atlantis so it was very well done. Really enjoyed it, but before we knew it we had to get back to catch the ferry before our ship left port, so we were back on the ship at 12:30 PM. The cost of this tour was $59.00 per person. If we had the FULL 5 hrs it would have been well worth it.

Back on the Ship we had lunch at the Windjammer Marketplace where they had a huge selection of food from hamburgers, to Asian fare and even food from Brazil. We then went back to stateroom, showered and headed to Boleros to check out the Art tour at 3:00 PM, then at 4:00 we tried our hand at the 80's name that tune trivia in the Schooner Bar. It was fun and we did so-so! If you have cruised before you know that there are tons of activities available daily on board so you can chose to do as much or as little as you want.

Our reservations for Frozen in Time was for 5:00 PM. Tip:Try to arrive 20-30 mins early for the shows to get the best seats. I can not say enough about this production, it was wonderful. The ice skating story was based on Hans Christen Anderson fairy tales, so there were lots of costume changes and lots of color. The show was so enjoyable and the skaters did a great job on such a small rink. I would highly recommend this show it was one of the best I have ever seen. The show was approximately 45 mins long.

We then headed for dinner. Tonight was formal night in the main dining room and we opt-out this time, so instead we had dinner on our own at the Windjammer Marketplace.

The next show was at 9:00 PM in the Opal Theater- Called "Come Fly with Me" Terrific! The theme had to do with flying, so the songs had flying in the lyrics, but they did so much with it- not just signing, but dancing, acrobatics and tons of different costumes and set changes- it was amazing. We found out that this theater  was made especially for this productions since they had a prop airplane the size of a small plane on stage, it blew everyone away.... Again- Highly recommend this show as well! So far Royal Caribbean was 3 for 3 on the entertainment. This production was 1 hour long.

We then decided to try our hand in the casino- BIG MISTAKE! It was fun, but neither of us came close to winning. Oh well! Time for bed.....
